Math: This week scholars will be practicing how to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers. They will have a quiz on Friday.
Science: Scholars will begin the week with a test over Earth's geosphere and then explore Earths' biosphere and ecosystems.
Literature: Scholars will continue to read and discuss use of figurative language in The Phantom Tollbooth. They will have a quiz on Thursday.
Grammar/Writing: This week students will continue to practice using different types of personal pronouns.
History: This week scholars will continue learning about the different kings of England and continue discussing the religious conflicts that occurred during the Renaissance. They will have a quiz on Thursday.

- If your scholar has brought home a Core Knowledge reader for either science or history, please help us ensure they are bringing it with them to school each day. Core Knowledge student readers are available to download online at no cost. Core Knowledge Student Reader - The Renaissance.

- Scholars are required to have a personal copy of The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. A full list of GreatHearts classics to keep, with ISBN numbers, can be found at this link: Classics to Keep
- Scholars will receive study guides one week prior to a test with the expectation that they are completing it over the course of the week. Scholars will NOT receive study guides for quizzes but should review their notes each night in order to best engage with the content.

Math: This week scholars will practice word problems involving division of a decimal by a 2-digit whole number.
Science: Scholars will explore the processes that led to the formation of rocks and fossil fuels as well as how to recognize land forms.
Literature: Scholars will begin reading The Phantom Tollbooth. Scholars will begin working to identify different types of figurative language in the story.
Grammar/Writing: This week students will practice using different types of personal pronouns.
History: This week scholars will continue in our study of England during the Renaissance.
